The design of this memorial luxury loft space within a memorial area high rise tower entailed stripping much of what was existing back to the raw concrete shell of the building and adding in new elements to create an industrial modern feel. Concrete flooring and ceiling on the first floor were left exposed along with structural columns, which contrast to the refined nature and warmth of the wenge straight grain wood millwork. Technology is integrated throughout the house and the glass enclosures of the second floor bedrooms act like screens themselves enhancing this sophisticated high tech approach. The great room opens up to 25’ ceiling heights with light and views of Bayou Bend and Buffalo Bayou in this memorial luxury loft. Warm walnut and white finishes provide a high contrast modern palette set against the industrial exposed concrete.
